The Movimiento Estudiantil de Chicanos de Aztlan is a nationwide college and high school based Chicano student organization. This group has existed in some of the country's most prestigious universities and colleges for more than 40 years. M.E.Ch.A has consistently been at the forefront of the struggle to open up educational opportunities for the Chicano community. This movement at Bowie was the first high school chapter to be organized in El Paso area in 1992. It brings students who are proud of their rich cultural heritage and that are willing to transform this pride into positive and conscientious actions behalf of others in their school and their community.
